LOVESTRUCK and lonely Tom Cruise has flipped for Downton Abbey beauty Michelle Dockery — and is on a Mission: Impossible to steal her away from her new beau!
The 57-year-old superstar was chatting animatedly with Michelle, 38, at the British Fashion Awards in London on Dec. 2, and “anyone could see he was homing in on her, buzzing around like a hornet!” tattles an insider.
As GLOBE previously reported, Michelle had been firmly single since the devastating 2016 cancer death of her 34-year-old fiancé, John Dineen, until recently falling for talent agent Jasper WallerBridge, 31, brother of Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
But that hasn’t deterred the Top Gun hunk, who’s had a crush on Michelle for years and has now gone into fullpursuit mode, says the insider.
“When he saw her looking so beautiful in London, he knew he had to amp things up and make her notice him,” dishes the source. “He’s trying to woo her in a big way and slathering on the charm and gentlemanly manner.”
Reveals the tattletale: “He’s sending her flowers and cheery little notes and basically being a total charmer.”
While he’s been warned that she’s firmly tied to the handsome Waller-Bridge, “that actually makes him more determined than ever. He’s asked her out repeatedly!”
Michelle’s reportedly flattered that Tom’s taken such an interest in her, “but she’s holding him off — or trying to!” adds the insider.
“But Tom isn’t one to give up easily and is hoping for a chance to sit and talk to her over wine and a meal, totally alone.”
