Brave star’s nightmare straining his marriage
TORMENTED George Clooney is trapped in a living hell from an agonizing broken back that’s crippling him and pushing his marriage to Amal to the edge.
The 58-year-old actor suffers crushing pain and blinding headaches so bad, he’s told friends he is terrified he will end up an invalid in a wheelchair,
unable to be a husband to Amal, 41, and father to their two-year-old twins,
Ella and Alexander.
The injury came during a serious tumble while George was filming the
2005 movie Syriana. The excruciating pain drove him to undergo delicate back surgery in 2014.
“He felt he couldn’t go on living with that kind of pain,” snitches an insider.
Devastated George admitted he was suicidal: “I was at a point where I thought, ‘I can’t exist like this. I can’t actually live.’
“I was lying in a hospital bed with an IV in my arm, unable to move, having these headaches where it feels like you’re having a stroke.
“And for a short threeweek period, I started to think: ‘I may have to do something drastic about this.’
“You start to think in terms of, you don’t want to leave a mess, so go in the garage, go in the car, start the engine. It seems like the nicest way to do it.”
The surgery gave George some relief from the torment, but he reinjured it when he was struck by a car while
July 2018, insiders dish.
“The impact aggravated the old injury and his suffering has intensified,” spills the insider. “Some days he can’t even get up from a chair without hollering.
“The fear that he may be confined to a wheelchair during his golden years has grown to nightmarish proportions.
“The torment and emotional despair have sent him in a downward spiral that has put terrible strain on his marriage to Amal, and some of his friends worry it may not survive.”
Amal has confided to pals she feels helpless, notes the source.
“Their relationship has been through the ringer in recent years and friends say George has stashed the bulk of his $500 million fortune in secret bank accounts so Amal won’t get it in the event of a divorce,” the insider blabs.
“She’s grown weary of his silly sense of humor, which she finds immature, and scolds him for partying too much with Rande Gerber and his cronies.
“Meanwhile, he thinks she’s too serious and snobby. They’ve been living separate lives of late. Now his back pain and headaches are threatening to leave him a cripple and topple their marriage for good!”
