Diva duchess hunts for Vancouver house in plot to revive her showbiz career
MEGHAN wins! The B-actress turned Duchess of Sussex and her henpecked hubby, Prince Harry, are quitting Britain and moving to Canada, GLOBE has learned in a blockbuster world exclusive!
“Getting away from the royal family’s London base — under her own terms — has been Meghan’s goal from day one,” dishes a high-level palace insider.
“Life as a royal is far from the fairy tale she thought it would be when she wed Harry. Now she knows she’s worn out her welcome with her diva demands, temper tantrums and publicity stunts.
“It was her idea to ditch the traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham, which humiliated and infuriated the queen.
“Instead, she and Harry demanded six weeks away from royal duties for ‘family time’ with their seven-monthold son, Archie!
“Her Majesty was so sick of their embarrassing public antics, she agreed! But she also told them their time in Britain was short. She exiled them on a permanent basis — and suggested they find a home during their holiday visit.”
Officially, the rebel royals said they wanted to celebrate Archie’s first Christmas with Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, who lives in Los Angeles. But Her Majesty changed their plans, sources say.
“Instead they secretly flew to Canada, where Meghan spent several years when she filmed the TV series Suits,” says the palace insider.
“And that’s when she put the pressure on Harry to move to Vancouver — nicknamed Hollywood North!
“Even before the recent edict, they knew the queen planned to kick them out of Britain after they dissed the royals in a cringeworthy TV interview. Harry admitted he was feuding with his brother, Prince William, and Meghan tearfully accused the royals of abandoning her when they knew she was struggling with her new life.
“Harry was happy to be exiled to his favorite place, Africa, which reminds him so much of his late mother, Princess Diana.
“But that was the last place Meghan wanted to go, despite the charitable work she’s done there.
“She’s quietly laying the
groundwork to resume her acting career, and Africa’s not exactly the center of TV and movie work!
“She wants to start a new life in Vancouver! The devious duchess told Harry it was a safer place for their children. She’s promised to have a second baby in 2020 — and he would still be an active and respected royal since his grandmother is officially also queen of Canada!
“Several hit TV series have been filmed in the British Columbia city, including The X-Files, The Good Doctor, Riverdale, Smallville and Supergirl — and Meghan’s convinced it’s where she’ll become a superstar!
“They’re already shopping for a five- or sixbedroom mansion in the trendiest neighborhood, First Shaughnessy. Meghan says money’s no object!”
The historic district — one of the most expensive in the city — boasts large estates costing as much as
$30 million!
Since they wed in May 2018, Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, have made headlines for all the wrong reasons!
They publicly snubbed the 93-year-old queen, turning down invites to her Scottish estate in the summer and Sandringham at Christmas, and refused to fly back to London last month when 98-year-old Prince Philip was rushed to the hospital!
They rejected a lavish apartment next to William and Kate at Kensington Palace, and instead spent millions of public money renovating their country home, Frogmore Cottage.
They were branded hypocrites for lecturing about climate control — then flying gas-guzzling private jets to exotic vacations.
And they largely kept the birth of their son a secret!
“Most of the royals have disowned them,” says the palace source. “They’ve become a publicity nightmare!
“It was a year of hell for the royals culminating in Prince Andrew’s ties to a nightmare, sex-trafficking scandal.
“Getting Harry and Meghan out of sight ASAP gives Her Majesty and senior royals a chance to focus on rebuilding their image and saving the monarchy.”
