PENNY-PINCHING Kelly Clarkson is tightening the purse strings by listing two of her three mega-mansions for sale — and sources predict other big changes are coming!
“Kelly is being very sensible about her finances and making adjustments that reflect where the world is today,” spills an insider.
“She’s worked her butt off to get where she is, but it’s common knowledge salaries on The Voice are likely to be cut soon, and she wants to be safe now, not sorry later on!”
As GLOBE previously revealed, Kelly’s cushy $14 million-a-season payday is in real danger of getting slashed, and while she earns $2.5 million for her popular syndicated talk show, it’s been on hiatus for weeks with no start-up date in sight.
“Kelly’s monthly expenses are enormous, and seeing all those huge bills piling up is making her nervous,” tattles the source.
“She’s got mortgages and taxes to pay — and something’s got to give if the economy continues the way it’s going.
“So, she’s desperate to make some savings now!”
Kelly’s put her plush Tennessee pad on the market for $7.5 million and her sprawling estate in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley for just under $10 million.
“By selling two of her three places, Kelly can likely purchase another main residence in L.A. for less and make a decent profit,” says the insider.
“She’s cutting back in other areas of her life. Things like designer clothes, fancy haircuts and buying every kitchen appliance known to humankind have gone out the window.”
The first-ever American Idol winner, 38, and hubby Brandon Blackstock, 43, are bunking down at her Montana ranch with their daughter, River Rose, 5, and son, Remington, 4.

“Kelly’s keeping costs down by cleaning the house herself and making casseroles for dinner, then serving the leftovers the next day,” dishes the insider.
“In Kelly’s book, every effort counts big-time and makes her feel a little bit better.”
