Lover murdered in broad daylight
THE death curse that haunted tragic model and Playboy pinup Anna Nicole Smith has struck again — her former lover Mark Hatten was gunned down in broad daylight!
Mark, who believed Anna and her son, Daniel, were murdered, was fatally shot with a .35-caliber handgun while in a car with his galpal just before 3 p.m. in tiny Greeleyville, S.C., on May 3.
“Someone pointed a gun at her,” says a source, “and Mark jumped across to the passenger side — not sure if he was covering his girlfriend or trying to get out of the car to go after the guy — and this guy started shooting through the car window.”
No arrests were made, but a 71-year-old man who reportedly had a fight with Mark the day before is currently a suspect, say sources.

Nicole in 2000 and later went to jail after he stalked and threatened the beauty and assaulted her neighbor.
During their fling, according to his 2010 book, Hollywood’s Annamania, they shared marathon, six-hour bed romps. “Anna has an amazing body,” he declared. “It was the best sex of my life.”
Previously, Anna became a celebrity sensation by wedding Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall in 1994 when he was 89 and she was 26. He died a year later and she battled his kin over his fortune in court for years.
Tragically, the pill-popping blond bombshell and reality star died of “acute combined drug overdose” in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., on Feb. 8, 2007.
Just five months earlier, her 20-year-old son, Daniel, died from a lethal cocktail of antidepressants and methadone in the Bahamas, where she’d just given birth to a daughter. Her mom, Virgie, and Mark insisted Anna and Daniel were victims of foul play.
“Virgie believes the same person is responsible for her grandson’s and her daughter’s deaths. Virgie was a sheriff and feels there’s no accident in this,” said Mark. “I agree with Virgie. I think something is definitely wrong.”
