DEATH FEARS FOR DAREDEVIL DALE!
Concussion-scarred NASCAR star eyes risky return to track
RACING legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. is speeding toward a NASCAR comeback, sources tell GLOBE — but insiders fear his history of head injuries may mean he’s risking his life and endangering his fellow drivers!
Dale, 45, was named NASCAR’s most popular racer 15 years in a row before leaving the track in the dust in 2017 after experiencing more than 20 concussions!
But a tipster says Earnhardt is still raring to compete and finally win his first NASCAR Cup Series championship — no matter the cost!
Sources dish Dale’s aboutface was partly inspired by Ryan Newman bouncing back just three months after his near-fatal crash at this year’s Daytona 500!
“Dale saw that and figured if Ryan could come back from something that horrific — he could, too!” an insider snitches.
But a friend says Dale is getting blowback from wife Amy Reimann, who’s expecting the couple’s second child after welcoming daughter Isla Rose in 2018.
“It was really Amy who talked Dale into retiring in the first place,” the pal confides. “She knows NASCAR has been his whole life — ever since working in his legendary driver father Dale Sr.’s garage when he was just a boy. But she’s dead set against him going back to racing and putting his life on the line!”
And sources say Amy is far from alone in her objection to Dale’s return!
“Between his advancing age, all the head injuries he’s had and being away from competing on the circuit for three years, there are very real concerns about Dale’s reaction time,” another spy spills.
“The drivers feel he would not only be putting himself in peril, but anybody else racing against him!”
But, the insider says, “Dale feels in his heart he hasn’t written the final chapter of his racing career.
“Let’s just hope it’s not a tragic one.”
