Focusing on kids after breast cancer kills wife Kelly
DEVASTATED by wife Kelly Preston’s death from breast cancer, heartbroken John Travolta is quitting Hollywood forever to be a full-time dad to his two kids, sources tell GLOBE.
Insiders say the 66-year-old Pulp Fiction star wants a life away from the spotlight for Ella Bleu, 20, and Benjamin, 9, now that their 57-year-old actress mom passed away July 12 following a two-year battle with the cruel disease.
“He has no desire to get in front of the camera again,” spills an insider. “He’d been gearing up for some time to retreat from showbiz for good once it became clear Kelly was losing the fight against cancer.
“His priority now is making sure Ben and Ella are all right. He promised Kelly before she died that he would look after them.”
While the kids are “holding up okay, John’s a wreck” over the death of his wife of 29 years, dishes the source.
The shattered Saturday Night Fever star issued a heart-wrenching statement:
“I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.”

had been making plans to leave Hollywood for more than half a year.
In January, he and Kelly discreetly sold their longtime home in L.A.’s tony Brentwood area to record exec Scooter Braun for $18 million.
The couple and their kids had basically been based at their Florida estate, with a big house and a two-landing strip airport for pilot John’s fleet of planes.
“He’d take Kelly and the kids up in the air with him all the time,” says the source. “He made Kelly smile when she was far from feeling well.”
The source believes John’s “career doesn’t bring him happiness anymore,” and “his last movies have been a string of flops,” adds the insider.
His 2018 film Gotti, where he played notorious Mafia boss John Gotti — and Kelly, in her final role, portrayed the mobster’s wife, Victoria — was savaged by the critics.
“For the time being, he’ll be busy behind the scenes with Scientology, knowing that Kelly was an avid believer, too,” says the insider.
