Stars’ lives rocked as daughter is hit by killer infection
COUNTRY king Garth Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood were terrified when their youngest child was stricken with killer COVID-19 — and now pals say the girl’s chilling brush with death turned their world upside down!
“This has been the toughest experience either of them can remember, and it broke their hearts seeing their daughter go through this torture,” spills an insider.
“The whole family got through it together, mainly thanks to Garth and Trisha, who were incredibly strong throughout.”
The 58-year-old If Tomorrow Never Comes crooner and multiGrammy winner Trisha, 55
— who are worth $400 million combined — were plunged into helplessness when Allie, 24, tested positive for the rampaging virus that’s killed more than 155,000 Americans.
“It hit them hard,” adds the source, “and reminded them about the importance of health, family and taking precautions, plus how precious life is.”
Allie, who has sisters Taylor, 28, and August, 26, has since recovered, but the news she had the disease — and her battle for life — hit like a bombshell.
The girls’ biological mom is his first wife, Sandy Mahl, but Trisha’s lovingly co-raised the trio since they were youngsters.
Country Stars Boost Spirits
Garth divorced Sandy in 2001 after 15 years together — and tied the knot with Trisha in 2005.
“None of us has ever seen this before,” Garth says. “As parents like you, like me, all you do is pray your knee bones off and hopefully follow the guidelines so hopefully your family doesn’t have to experience this.”
Adds a source: “Thankfully they’re out the other side now, but it’s something they’ll never forget, and they’re spreading the message for other parents to be aware and protect their families at all costs.”
Meanwhile, the couple were boosted during their ordeal by close friends, including Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Keith Urban.
“This is a sobering situation, to see the virus affect a family that’s so beloved in the world of country music,” says the source. “It’s actually a small community when all’s said and done, and everyone sticks together in times of crisis.”
