SIMON DOOMED TO LIFE OF PAIN!

Talent show king breaks back in electric bike stunt

-

SHOWBIZ mogul Simon Cowell is facing a life of agonizing pain — and possible paralysis — warn medical experts after a horrific bike accident left him with a back broken in three places and a rod inserted in his spine!

“He may be left with what’s known as ‘failed back syndrome’ … chronic back pain that remains even after successful surgery!” grimly warns Dr. Jonathan Lewin, a New York spine surgeon, who has not treated Simon.

Even more chilling, life span expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who also hasn’t treated Simon, believes he’ll “suffer the rest of his life” and “may lose control of his legs and arms … if the rod doesn’t hold and the vertebrae collapse.”

Kelly Clarkson, who was judged by Simon as a contestant on American Idol’s first season, will fill in for him as a judge on his current show, America’s Got Talent.

Simon suffered the terrifying fall outside his Malibu home Aug. 9 while trying out a $20,000 Swind EB-01 Hyper Electric bicycle, described as “the most powerful” and “fastest bike on earth,” with gutwrenching acceleration and top speeds of 60 to 80 mph.

While his six-year-old boy, Eric, live-in lover Lauren Silverman

and her teen son, Adam, watched in horror, the 60-year-old music and TV tycoon popped a wheelie and “fell back directly onto his back,” according to a witness.

The talent judge was rushed to Santa Monica’s Providence Saint John’s Health Center, where he endured a five-hour surgery as doctors inserted a series of screws and a metal rod to stabilize his spine.

Despite reports he was “resting well” and “walking around” just two days after the surgery, Simon’s in “searing pain!” says an insider.

“The pain is so intense that simple functions like lifting a cup of tea make him wince! Everyone around him is afraid his life will be forever altered.”

Simon’s ex-love Terri Seymour, who is still close, says he hit the ground “one centimeter away from his spinal cord. It’s bad, and he is in agony.”

A source blabs Simon is “terrified the pain will never leave him. He’s afraid he won’t be able to work the round-theclock hours he’s come to be known for and will have to give up his work altogether!”
