How Ocasek broke wife Paulina’s heart and attempted to cut her out of $10M will
BITTER Cars rocker Ric Ocasek cruelly cut his model wife, Paulina Porizkova, out of his will even though she took care of him for the year right up until his death.
Shortly after, the 55-yearold beauty was booted into the streets from his $10 million Manhattan townhouse. On Oct. 18, she tearfully wrote: “Beginning the process of letting go of things — letting go of thirty years — letting go of everything I’ve known — everything that made me feel safe.”
The 75-year-old guitarist of hits Just What I Needed and Since You’re Gone turned bitter and felt “abandoned” by the stunning Czech model, who he was divorcing, even though she’d returned to watch over him after their 2018 split.
“I have made no provision for my wife, even if I should die before our divorce is final. Paulina is not entitled to any elective share because she has abandoned me,” he wrote in his will.
While Ric, who died of natural causes on Sept. 16, 2019, following a heart operation, cut out third wife Paulina and two sons from his second marriage, he made provisions for two sons from his first marriage and their children Jonathan, 26, and Oliver, 22, from his megamillions estate.
A pal says Ric and the supermodel “really loved each other, but [when he got sick] he seemed to get tired — of everything.
“She didn’t know if he’d stopped loving her or just stopped loving life. He felt emotionally dead to her.
“He clearly felt she was abandoning him at a trying time in his life — even though she was the one helping him most when he got sick.”
Paulina admits Ric turned cold, saying: “It’s really hard to be married to somebody if you’re the only one putting in all the work.”
Meanwhile, New York divorce lawyer Nicole Noonan says Paulina is “entitled to a share of the estate” since they were still married.
“You can’t disinherit your spouse,” she says. “You can disinherit everyone — except for your spouse.”
