PAUL’S BATTLING BRAIN BEETLES! McCartney admits he’s lost memory, uses teleprompter to sing greatest hits
HE GETS by with a little help from his teleprompter!
As GLOBE was first to reveal back in 2010, former Beatle Paul McCartney is losing his memory!
The 78-year-old now publicly admits his brain farts have gotten so bad there’s now a machine onstage showing him the lyrics for his own hit tunes!
“Sometimes I’ll be doing a song, like Eleanor Rigby or something, and I’m on autopilot,” Paul confesses.
“And I’m starting to think, ‘Oh, what am I gonna have for dinner? Maybe you won’t have the soup but maybe you’ll just go for the main course.’
“Sometimes that breaks down and I forget the song. I have a teleprompter.”
Adds a source: “Memory problems have been plaguing Paul for years. He’s had to use a teleprompter for a while now.
“Paul says he can’t remember the words or tunes to many of the songs he made famous.
“He says there are just too many of them and he has to relearn some of them before he tours.”
The Yesterday singer, who’s wed to third wife Nancy Shevell, admits: “To tell you the truth, I don’t really know my songs.
“There are certain ones that
I can conjure up. But really the truth is, people say, ‘Go on, do that one — and I say, ‘Sorry, I have no idea how it goes.’”
Paul, who’s set to release a new album, McCartney III, has been hospitalized several times for a variety of ailments.
“Now, with his memory problems worsening, it may finally be the end of the road for Paul,” says the source.
