CHARLES & CAMILLA: SECRETLY SEPARATED!
Battling couple put up united front in public to claim crown
BAD blood between Prince Charles and Camilla has boiled over and now the feuding royals are living separate lives under different roofs, palace insiders snitch.
Behind their public smiles and pleasantries, the couple are sick of the sight of each other, say sources, who insist boozing and nonstop fights have driven them apart.
Now Camilla, 73, is at a country hideaway while Charles, 72, stays full-time at their main royal residence hundreds of miles away, spies dish.
“Charles is still based in Highgrove full-time, but Camilla spends most weekends and sometimes longer spells at her private residence in Wiltshire,” tattles a royal insider.
“They’re still diligent about being together for royal functions, and it’s unlikely they’ll divorce — at least, that’s what they’re reassuring relatives and close friends as the throne hangs in the balance.
“But it’s an open secret they’ve been getting on each other’s nerves of late, with Camilla’s thirst for power, conspiracy
— and gin — bugging Charles in a big way.”
The times they are together turn into ferocious verbal battles, with her slurring insults while he gulps his favorite Scotch whiskey and responds in kind, sources say.
However, no matter how
bad it gets, the Prince of Wales and his wife always keep their eyes on the prize — the crown worn by Charles’ 94-year-old mother, Queen Elizabeth. As GLOBE previously reported, sources say Camilla is hanging onto her marriage because she wants to rule by Charles’ side and now it’s almost in her grasp.
Insiders claim it’s very unlikely the boozy Duchess of Cornwall will ever be given the formal title of queen due to her scandalous past. But she’d still be the Princess Consort — outranking Prince William’s wife, Kate, who she detests, and other members of the clan, sources say.
Insiders add Her Majesty is considering bypassing Charles and handing the throne to his eldest son and his wife, Duchess Kate, who are much more popular with the public.
“Popularity is a key factor in succession now since Prince Andrew disgraced the monarchy with his close ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s abdication from the royal family.”
So Camilla and Charles don’t want to rock the boat right now, insiders say.
“As disillusioned as they may be in private, they’re both determined to see this through and wait their turn to be in charge, no matter how miserable things get between them,” says the insider.
“The truth is they’re stronger together and Charles would stand less chance of being king if he were single, plus Camilla is as power-hungry as she’s ever been and can guide him through the swamp of palace politics.
“It’s sad how their relationship seems to have turned into a marriage of convenience, but a combination of pride, ambition and power is keeping them together — at least for now.”
