FUNERAL HOME VAN STOLEN WITH CORPSE INSIDE!

-

AMISSOURI funeral home’s van — and the corpse inside — were swiped when the driver left his motor running while ducking into a convenience store!

St. Louis

County police say two suspects,

Brian Schaake,

38, and his sidekick, Christina

Kalb, tore out of a QuikTrip lot in a white 2012 Nissan NV1500 van that was carrying precious cargo — a cadaver in a casket!

Lawmen say the van, which prominently features decals for the William C.

Harris Funeral Home, was left running while the driver dashed into the store to use the bathroom. When he was done, his ride and the body were gone.

Police say surveillance footage showed Schaake and Kalb, who are both residents of Springfield, Ill., walk across the street from a drugstore, get into the van and drive off. Schaake was spotted getting in the driver’s seat and Kalb rode shotgun, according to cops, who recovered the van and the stiff a day later.

Schaake was charged with theft and is being held in lieu of $40,000 bond. Kalb was charged with tampering with the truck — and released without bond. Cops claim both confessed, but didn’t reveal a motive for the heist. However, witnesses say the temperature was about 19 degrees — and lawmen believe the suspects are homeless.
