GAINING lean muscle is possible with some simple diet and lifestyle changes, claims a dietitian from Down Under.

Aussie Leanne Ward advises consuming adequate protein, doing strengthtr­aining exercises and getting enough shut-eye.

But the expert from Brisbane says her “golden rule” is to eat from 20 to 30 grams of protein with every main meal — instead of scarfing down one “enormous amount” at the end of the day.

“The body can only absorb and utilize a certain amount of protein at one time,” she explains.

Ward also does not recommend the intermitte­nt fasting fad and insists, “It’s not going to help you out.”

But when it comes to workouts, Ward says, “Make sure you’re doing enough resistance training but not too much — more isn’t always better.”
