NCIS superstar Mark Harmon is worth a staggering $100 million, but the moneybags actor has been branded Hollywood’s Most Notorious Tightwad, sources say.
“Mark’s got a reputation as one of the worst cheapskates in show business,” spills an insider. “But he’s just a believer that life is good on a modest scale.
“He doesn’t need to blow his cash on material things he doesn’t need.”
The 69-year-old former UCLA quarterback’s been married to Mork & Mindy babe Pam Dawber for 34 years and sources say he’s a homebody instead of a party boy.
He doesn’t shell out dough on designer duds or visit costly salons for haircuts.
“This is a guy who has holes in his jeans and doesn’t care if his T-shirts go crusty in the armpits,” the insider dishes. “He’d rather sock that money away than spend it. He considers himself a simple guy who believes in hard work, and balances that with a happy home life.”
The penny-pincher fixes his own cars and makes repairs around the house, says the spy, who claims Mark even reuses the same old water bottle.
He’s even stingy with his personal needs.
“He only uses a tiny bit of deodorant because he wants to save and he uses inexpensive skin-care products,” the source says. “He enjoys doing the grocery shopping with Pam and gets a chuckle out of how much money they saved using coupons.”
He also doesn’t blow his dough eating out, but “insists on home-cooked meals,” notes the source. “Even takeout is a wild splurge they rarely do.”
And Pam, 69, doesn’t seem to mind.
