ODD REASON BABY MOM WON’T WED STATHAM!
VICTORIA’S Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has a shocking reason for not tying the knot with action star and her baby’s daddy, Jason Statham — at this point in their 11-year relationship it seems “silly,” pals dish.
“Of course someday Rosie would like to be Jason’s wife,” says a source. “But when she thinks of putting on a long white dress and walking down the aisle like a blushing bride, the whole idea seems silly after she’s already spent nearly a third of her life with her man.”
Six years into their relationship, Transporter hunk Jason, now 53, actually proposed to the 34-year-old catwalker and slipped a five-carat, $350G sparkler on her finger.
But work and other issues kept getting in the way of her waltzing down the aisle with the former British Olympic diving team jock.
Instead, the English rose “looks at the engagement as a commitment on its own, and she feels signing
their names on a piece of paper won’t change anything,” says a spy.
Following their engagement, any plans to get hitched had to be put on the back burner due to Rosie’s pregnancy.
After the arrival of their son, Jack, now 4, in June 2017, she had her hands full, and getting married was not at the top of her list.
“Once Jack arrived, Rosie’s modeling career was back on, and Jason was busy filming three movies back-to-back,” says the source.
“And there just wasn’t time to squeeze in a wedding.”
And last year’s COVID pandemic nixed any plans for a fancy shindig.
Now, they’re set with their relationship, son and careers and a wedding seems far off.
“She’s not saying she won’t get up one day and tell Jason, ‘Honey, let’s get married today,’ but right now there is no wedding date,” says the source. “If they do eventually decide to tie the knot, it will probably be a small, last-minute ceremony with just a handful of guests.”
