COURAGEOUS sitcom beauty Christina Applegate reveals she has crippling multiple sclerosis, but the gutsy gal bravely vows she’ll keep fighting for a normal life.
In a bombshell social media post, the 49-year-old blonde, who rocketed to fame as teen sexpot Kelly Bundy in the classic Married with Children sitcom from 1987 to 1997, confessed, “Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.
“It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a ****** blocks it.”
The autoimmune disease attacks the central nervous system and disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
While treatable, victims often suffer from vision issues, arm or leg movement and balance problems.
MS is especially unpredictable and patients never know which symptoms will strike or how severe they’ll be, say experts.
While the mom of Sadie, 10, with hubby-musician Martyn LeNoble calls herself “semi-retired,” she’s starred in Netflix’s dark comedy Dead to Me since 2019 and is currently working on the TV movie Your Time Is Up.
Christina will get plenty of help from best bud, former Anger Management actress Selma Blair, 49, who also suffers from the disease.
Selma bravely revealed in a post the difficulties she has to deal with playing Harper Glass on Netflix’s sci-fi drama Another Life.
“The brilliant costumer #alisaswanson not only designs the pieces #harperglass will wear on this new #netflix show, but she carefully gets my legs in my pants, pulls my tops over my head, buttons my coats and offers her shoulder to steady myself. I have #multiplesclerosis.”
