Streisand reveals smitten prince sent flowers from his own garden
BABBLING Barbra Streisand has finally come clean about her romance with passionate Prince Charles!
What’s more, sources have told GLOBE the randy royal was raring to marry her — if only Princess Diana and his then-mistress Camilla Parker Bowles hadn’t gotten in the way!
“I loved spending time with him,” admits the Way We Were singer, 79, about her hushhush visits to Highgrove House, Charles’ private residence in Gloucestershire, England. As GLOBE readers know, Charles, now 72, was hopelessly crushing on the Funny Girl sensation and arranged to get together at L.A.’s Bel-Air Hotel in 1994 — 20 years after they first met — for a private afternoon tea that reportedly went on for an eye-raising amount of time!
Although Barbra has spent decades staying mostly mum about her encounter with her princely admirer, she now confesses the future king surprised her with flowers.
“I saw this bouquet of flowers and I said, ‘Who sent me that?’ and my assistant said, ‘A fan called Charles.’ I looked and they weren’t from a florist — they were from his gardens and she mistook it as a fan!”
The multi-award-winning singer, actress and filmmaker was married from 1963 to 1971 to Elliott Gould, now 83, father of her son, Jason Gould, 54.
She has been married to Sweet Tooth hunk James Brolin, 81, since 1998.
But in between, Barbra “became friends” with Prince Charles and even enjoyed a joke at the time about how she “could have become the first Jewish princess!”
During her British Summer Time Hyde Park gig in 2019, the three-time Tony-winning Woman in Love singer showed off photos of herself getting chummy with Charles.
And the prince, who once boasted Barbra was “my only pin-up,” is said to have had it so bad for Babs that a palace insider dished: “I believe Charles would never have married Diana or romanced Camilla if Streisand had always been available to him!”
