Model turns 34-inch gams into solid gold
HEFTY Heather Johnson’s thunder thighs helped her catch lightning in a bottle — when a medical condition left her with abnormally large legs, the South Carolina gal launched a lucrative career as a curve model!
Heather, 38, claims she’s been a “big girl” her whole life and tried “diet after diet.” But she recalls, “I always had a big butt, big legs, small waist and flabby arms.”
When she finally crushed the scales at 425, Heather says she was determined to slim down for her health, had gastric sleeve surgery and shed a whopping 165 pounds.
But as her upper half shrank, her cellulite-riddled gams only grew bigger!
Soon, the hippy chick was sporting a 39-inch waist — and dimpled thighs that measured a massive 34 inches each!
Her lumpy, lopsided look sent her to the internet, searching for answers.
“Instagram is how I found out about lipedema,” she explains. “I was happy to figure out that I wasn’t crazy in the thought that my body was different from other people’s.”
Lipedema is an incurable condition in which excess fat deposits accumulate — usually in the lower body.
Heather admits, “I have to wear compression clothes to make it comfortable to walk. My legs are always very sensitive to touch. I get bruises very easily.”
But the 5-foot-9 mother of four, who now weighs 285 pounds, dishes, “I decided to embrace it when I realized this is who I am and if I don’t love myself, no one else will.”
Since then, Heather has used her unusual assets to boost her bottom line. After she posted glamour shots on Instagram, she was hired as a plus-size model for multiple fashion brands!
She gushes, “It’s never too late to follow your dreams — you’re never too old, you’re never too big, you’re never too anything.”
