BOOB-BITING THRONES SEX WAS MESSY!
RAUNCHY, boob-biting nude sex scenes on HBO’s Game of Thrones were a wild, improvised free-for-all because the directors refused to get involved, says actress Gemma Whelan.
Although the sword and sorcery drama that ran from 2011 to 2019 seemed planned down to the smallest detail, the 40-year-old beauty, who played bisexual Lady Yara Greyjoy, says what went on between the sheets was a
“mess” left up to actors.
“They used to just say, ‘When we shout action, go for it!’ and it could be a sort of frenzied mess,” she recalls. “A director might say, ‘Bit of boob biting, then slap her bum and go!’ ” She recalls discussing details with her gal or guy partner in the scene
of what they would do — and show — so they’d be more comfortable with the revealing antics.
“There was a scene in a brothel with a woman and she was so exposed that we talked together about where the camera would be and what she was happy with,” recalls Gemma.
