FAST & FURIOUS!

Outrage as racing rich kid gets off easy after fatal crash

-

ICH kid Brendan Khuri’s slap-on-thewrist sentence for killing 32-year-old secretary Monique Munoz when he crashed his speeding Lamborghini into her sedan is yet another outrageous example of the double standard festering in America’s justice system!

While inner city teens routinely get yearslong sentences for minor offenses, Beverly Hills brat Brendan slithered off with only seven to nine months at an October court hearing despite taking a woman’s LIFE!

The shocking details of this miscarriage of justice are enough to make anyone puke.

The boy’s wheeler-dealer dad, James Khuri, 46, who’s worth an estimated $400 million, gave Brendan the Lamborghini Urus SUV for his 17th birthday.

He apparently allowed the teen to keep zooming in the doom buggy — which has a top speed of 190 mph — even after cops say he was twice ticketed for speeding and had his license suspended at one point.

While squiring his girlfriend around in the $218,000 present, he smashed into Monique’s car — at 100 mph — last February.

The secretary, who was planning to enter law school, was trapped in the mangled wreckage and died at the scene.

Khuri’s lawyer did his best to get the killer kid off the hook, claiming the teen was autistic and, get this, if he did have to serve time, it should be house arrest at daddy’s mansion.

While the maximum adult sentence in California for vehicular manslaughter with severe recklessness is six years in the slammer, Brendan — who was tried as a juvenile — got a couple of months at camp for naughty children.

Monique’s family and friends are rightly outraged.

“I’m looking for this kid to actually get what he deserves,” says her uncle Richard Cartier. “He murdered my niece and he had no remorse for any life of any kind and he showed it.”

Of course Brendan is responsible for the tragedy and pleaded guilty to manslaughter with gross negligence.

But what about his dad, who publicly apologized to Monique’s family? Is giving this high schooler the keys to a Lambo the ethical equivalent of handing him a loaded AK-47 and turning him loose in a shopping mall for target practice? Could be.

But as usual, mega-money helped avoid big trouble. Khuri’s attorney Mark Werksman says “lawyers have worked out a financial settlement.”

Monique must be rolling in her grave.
