Lovestruck Russell can’t sweat off flab
SCALE-SQUASHING Russell Crowe is in a potbelly panic and so desperate to lose his bulging gut he’s going for an emergency liposuction, blab sources.
The 5-foot-10 superstar has been pumping iron to buff up his bod, but he still weighs a staggering 300 pounds and is losing the battle of the bulge, insiders say.
“He’s showing off his ripped biceps, but the big belly has been hanging on like an unwanted friend and no amount of exercise or weight training will get rid of it,” spills an insider.
“People can see he’s uncomfortable with the way it protrudes like that, though he tries his best to suck it in when he’s posing for photos.”
The 57-year-old movie gladiator, who was in fighting trim for his Oscar-winning role of swordsman Maximus in the 2000 Roman epic, and as boxing champ Jim Braddock in 2005’s Cinderella Man, especially wants to look good for his 30-year-old actress galpal Britney Theriot, spies snitch.
“Russell’s still more chunk than hunk and that’s got to be a turnoff for his girlfriend, Britney, since she’s so fit,” squeals the insider.
Problem is he’s yo-yoed his weight for movie roles. After piling on pounds to play a road-rage psycho in 2020’s Unhinged, he looked like he was wearing a fat suit, say sources.
“He has gone up and down the scale so many times his metabolism must be wrecked,” says the insider. “Russell’s only solution is to get lipo and you can bet he’ll be booking the surgery the first chance he gets!”
Meanwhile, the post-production staff on Russell’s current films, Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher and The Greatest Beer Run Ever, have their work cut out for them, explains the insider, who snipes, “It’s going to take some CGI magic to erase that gut.”
