Cheater refuses wife’s plea to settle down
MARTIAL arts maestro Jackie Chan is still working himself to a frazzle at age 67 and it’s thrown his 40-year marriage to wife Joan into a new crisis after he was caught cheating and fathering a love child, spies dish!
Despite amassing a mindboggling $360 million fortune, Jackie’s got four upcoming projects and 68-year-old Joan, mom of his son Jaycee, 38, is determined he slow down — but the actor is ignoring her demand and “having the time of his life,” a source says.
Chan stepped away from martial arts work years ago, “but he’s still busy as ever producing and starring in movies, and that leaves little time for Joan,” spills an insider.
“She would like him to retire or take a long break at least so they can spend some quality time together.”
The couple survived a scandal two decades ago when news exploded Jackie fathered a daughter, Etta, with mistress Elaine Ng in 1999.
“The media frenzy was like a bomb going off,” Chan recalls. “I wanted to phone Joan, but didn’t know what to say.
“It wasn’t a mistake I could fix by saying, ‘I’m sorry.’ ”
Instead of going ballistic and threatening to take him to the cleaners, Joan told the cheater: “You don’t need to explain. I don’t want you to hurt her, and I don’t want her to hurt us. Don’t worry about me. You go deal with this.” Chan claims he offered to support Etta, but Elaine has said she didn’t want his money. A report three years ago claims Etta, then 17, was homeless and living under a bridge.
Now Joan wants him to retire and Jackie’s “in a quandary,” says the source. “She’s not going to divorce him, but she’s not going to be pleasant about it either!”
