CHRIS CUOMO CAUGHT!
Put on ice for trying to bury brother Andrew’s groping scandal
TV newsman Chris Cuomo has been shown the door at CNN after bombshell new evidence reveals he went overboard trying to help his disgraced brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, beat the sex scandal that brought him down.
While the Cuomo Prime Time star claims he stayed neutral in the scandal and only “listened” and “gave my take” to his embattled older brother, explosive documents and transcripts gathered by
New York State Attorney Gen. Letitia James reveal Chris, 51, attempted to control the damage by finding out if more damning information was about to surface.
His bosses at CNN exploded when Chris’ full role was exposed and suspended the prime-time news poster boy indefinitely saying when the talking head first “admitted to us that he offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly.” But the new disclosures “point to a greater level of involvement” so he was put on ice — for now, according to a CNN exec.
In 348 pages of transcripts, Chris shockingly admitted to investigators he reached “out to sources [and] other journalists” to discover if more women were coming forward to claim Andrew, 64, had sexually harassed or attacked them.
He said he recalled Andrew’s secretary Melissa DeRosa “asking me at some point that either they wanted to know if I knew, or could find out, if more were coming or that she had heard that one or maybe two more were coming and could I find out.”
Chris also admitted checking out claims by Anna Ruch, who insisted Andrew groped her at a wedding, and telling DeRosa a source close to the bride’s family “had heard
that maybe she’d been put up to it.”
In total, 11 gals leveled charges against Andrew, who resigned Aug. 24 but still claims he did nothing wrong.
Andrew currently faces a misdemeanor charge based on claims by former aide Lindsey Boylan, who says he forcibly kissed her. Andrew denies that claim, too.
Now, Chris could be joining his brother on the unemployment line permanently — if CNN’s new internal investigation determines he smashed journalistic ethics by using his clout as a newsman to gather information for Andrew.
