Lying TV creep hit with new sex claim
CNN’S star pundit Chris Cuomo has been officially fired for lying about how much help he gave his disgraced brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, to fight sexual harassment charges!
Now the TV talking head is also facing accusations of his own bad boy behavior with gals.
After first suspending Cuomo, network kingpins fired the 51-year-old mouthpiece from his $6 million-ayear gig on Dec. 4, saying: “Based on the report we received regarding Chris’ conduct with his brother’s defense, we had cause to terminate.
“When new allegations came to us this week, we took them seriously, and saw no reason to delay taking immediate action.”
Chris fired back at CNN, saying he was “disappointed” over losing his job, insisting he was only trying to “help my brother” and CNN brass knew all about his role in Andrew’s defense. He also insisted the shocking new allegations of sexual misconduct against him brought by an anonymous gal are “false and unvetted.” Sources claim Cuomo, who left his SiriusXM radio gig, too, is hiring lawyers to sue CNN and fight sex harassment charges made by the woman from a rival network. As GLOBE reported, Chris got into hot water when documents from a probe by the New York Attorney General revealed he admitted using his newsman’s position to get information to help Andrew fight charges he groped and sexually harassed at least 11 gals.
Previously, Chris claimed to have been just a sounding board for Andrew, 64, who resigned as governor in August, and did not actively help him.
Meanwhile, lawyer Debra Katz leveled a disturbing “sexual misconduct” charge against Chris from an unnamed female “junior colleague” at another network, noting the complaint was not related to the charges that brought down Andrew.
Katz says her client decided to come forward after being outraged by Chris’ hypocrisy when, in a March 1 broadcast, he said: “I have always cared very deeply about these [sexual] issues, and profoundly so. I just wanted to tell you that.”
Chris had previously been accused of grabbing the butt of his then-boss at ABC News, Shelley Ross, 16 years ago. Cuomo apologized for the drunken incident.
