SPIDER-MAN’S TACKY TRICKS TO LOOK TALL
Ain’t no tall tale! Spider-Man stud TOM HOLLAND is using crafty tricks to boost his action man image! “I’m the superhero. I’m supposed to look cool,” spins the 25-yearold web-slinger. So he confesses to standing on red carpets “closer to the photographers than the people behind me” to look taller.
But the 5-foot-8 pip-squeak came up short next to his
5-foot-10 Spider-Man:
No Way Home leading lady ZENDAYA, 25
— so the film’s stunt coordinators came up with a way to fool the audience.
“There’s a particular stunt where Spider-Man swings us on top of a bridge and he places me there,” says Zendaya, who’s Tom’s real-life love. “Because of our height difference, we were attached, so I would land before him. My feet obviously hit the ground before he does,” but Zendaya holds up one of Tom’s legs as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders for support, so you can’t tell. “She would land … then my feet would swing from underneath me, and she would catch me,” dishes Tom.
Interestingly, Tom’s playing FRED ASTAIRE in an upcoming biopic about the dancing legend. Here’s a kicker: Astaire wasn’t short on talent, but he sure was sensitive about his height! While claiming to be 5-foot-9, folks from the day snickered he’d wear two-inch lifts in his shoes! Talk about weaving a tangled web.
