CAROLINA LAWYER MURDAUGH NAILED FOR $6M SWINDLE

-

DISGRACED South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh — who’s linked to at least three mysterious deaths — has been clobbered with 21 new charges involving $6 million worth of swindles.

The 53-year-old former prosecutor and member of a powerful lawyering family has been hit with charges including money laundering, breach of trust and forgery.

Prosecutors charge Murdaugh, whose wife,

Maggie, 52, and son Paul,

22, were murdered after a housekeeper died from a fall at his home, deposited dough stolen from clients in a slushfund bank account using “the illusion the money was being paid to a legitimate company.”

As GLOBE reported,

Murdaugh, who claims to be broke after blowing his wealth on drugs, was previously charged with attempting to stage his death after his wife and son were shot dead. He intended for his surviving son, Buster, 25, to collect a whopping

$10 million insurance policy, police claim.

He’s also accused of swindling the family of his late housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield, who died after tripping over his dogs and falling down the stairs.

A new probe has been launched into Gloria’s death, which was ruled an accident. Cops claim Murdaugh told her grown sons he’d pay them $500,000 after he collected from his liability insurance

— but secretly stiffed them and split $4 million with a lawyer friend who handled the settlement, and blew his share on drugs from his dealer, who cops claim was a cousin!

Murdaugh insists he’s innocent of all charges, but is a person of interest in Maggie and Paul’s slayings.
