Roasted for blaming his alcoholism on Jen Garner
BATMAN Ben Affleck triggered a firestorm of outrage after the crybaby drunk blamed his alcoholism on actress ex-wife Jennifer Garner!
Furious fans hit social media, where they slammed Affleck as a “d**khead,” “a**hole” and “scumbag” for saying the horror of his marriage made him crawl into a bottle for escape.
Now insiders say the 49-year-old Oscar winner may have blown holes in his megabucks career by whining he was “trapped” in a 13-year marriage to Garner from 2005 to 2018.
“I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’” he says
“And what I did was drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”
He says he and Garner, 49, did their best to stay together for their children, Violet, now 16, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9, but “ultimately, we didn’t want this to be the model that our kids see of marriage.”
At the end, Affleck checked into rehab in 2017 and again in 2018. The last time, Jennifer staged an intervention and drove him to the clinic. He
insists he’s now sober.
But Ben neglected to mention he began guzzling way before Garner, in the ’80s, and even checked into rehab in 2001 — FOUR YEARS before they wed, insiders say.
After his comments, fans hit the internet to trash Ben, who’s set to wed hottie Jennifer Lopez, for his “cheap shot” against the mom of his kids.
Says an internet poster: “Cheap shot saying you were trapped in a marriage and it caused you to drink. Way to take some responsibilities for your part,” while another describes him as an “A**HOLE with NO CLASS.”
Now Ben’s whining the reaction to his blame game “hurts my feelings.”
