Wine linked to dementia
DRINKING just four glasses of wine a week can dramatically raise the risk of developing dementia, according to researchers. Scientists at King’s College London tracked 15,000 subjects aged 50 and older for two years. They say folks who swilled multiple glasses of vino — or four pints of beer — a week had a 50 percent increase in the odds of experiencing short-term memory problems and cognitive decline, which were associated with future cases of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
