DOG LOVERS HOWL FOR FAUCI’S HEAD!
Doc’s agency uses taxes to pay for cruel experiments
OUTRAGED animal lovers are putting the bite on America’s vaccine czar Dr. Anthony Fauci because his National Institutes of Health uses taxpayer money to finance horrific experiments on helpless dogs!
After 24 members of Congress slammed the torture conducted in the name of science, animal lovers are calling for Fauci to resign and to be arrested!
“Fauci should be locked up for animal abuse and crimes against humanity,” says an outraged Twitter user.
In a letter to Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace and 23 colleagues say they have “grave concerns about reports of costly, cruel, and unnecessary taxpayer-funded experiments on dogs.”
Now a damning report by the White Coat Waste Project claims NIAID, which Fauci has headed for nearly four decades, “spent $1.68 million in taxpayer funds on drug tests” using beagle puppies!
Those payouts include $375,800 to a lab in Tunisia, where dogs were shot up with an experimental vaccine, then locked in an enclosed space to be feasted on by sand flies to determine if they’d be infected. Another Tunisian torture, apparently not funded by the U.S., locked dogs’ heads in boxes so the insects could feed!
And in a Menlo Park, Calif., lab, scientists conducted “cordectomies,” or debarking procedures, on 44 hounds. The animals’ vocal cords were severed to stop them from barking in pain during procedures where they were force-fed drugs or disease-carrying parasites before being killed and dissected!
NIAID insists the procedures were conducted under anesthesia and to reduce noise, which their scientists claim is stressful to the animals.
“This cruel procedure — which is opposed with rare exceptions by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and others — seems to have been performed so experimenters would not have to listen to the pained cries of the beagle puppies,” an outraged member of Congress claims.
“This is a reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds!” A representative for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) called the experiments an “abomination” and demanded Fauci’s resignation.
“These experiments are disgraceful under any circumstances, but are made even worse because the people conducting them know they are not leading to cures for humans,” says Kathy Guillermo, PETA’s senior vice president of lab investigations.
