KATE’S STILL CARRYING TITANIC TORCH FOR LEO

-

PLAYING the young lovers in the hit flick Titanic skyrocketed Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio to stardom and “bonded them for life,” the lovestruck beauty reveals.

Now 46, Kate confesses when they met after not seeing each other for three years following their 1997 movie she “couldn’t stop crying.”

The pair played star-crossed lovers who met on the doomed ocean liner’s first and final voyage in 1912. Kate, then 22, played a socialite who rejected her wealthy beau for poor boy Leo, 23. The love story made the movie a record-breaking box office hit even more than the spectacular special effects showing the Titanic sinking after hitting an iceberg.

The roles made Leo “my really close friend,” says Kate, who’s crushed because COVID travel bans keep them apart.

“Like so many friendships globally, we’ve missed each other because of COVID,” she moans.
