School uniforms aren’t a cure-all
DONNING a school uniform doesn’t affect the attitude or attendance rates of young students, according to a new study. Researchers at Ohio State University analyzed data from more than 6,000 schoolage children, and assistant professor Arya Ansari says, “A lot of the core arguments about why school uniforms are good for student behavior don’t hold up in our sample.” In fact, the team found fifth graders expressed a reduced sense of belonging when required to wear uniforms.
