Olive oil fights killer diseases
PEOPLE who consume more than a half tablespoon of olive oil daily may reduce their risk of dying early from heart disease and cancer by nearly 20 percent, according to a new study. Researchers from Harvard University tracked the dietary habits of over 90,000 people for nearly 30 years, and Dr. Marta Guasch-Ferré says her team’s findings suggest, “Clinicians should be counseling patients to replace certain fats, such as margarine and butter, with olive oil to improve their health.”
