Relieve nighttime toothaches

-

HAVING a toothache really bites — especially at night when pain can make sleep impossible. But experts say there are some things you can do at home to provide a quick temporary fix until you can see a dentist. Over-the-counter pain relievers, topical numbing gels, cold compresses and saltwater rinses can offer relief. Swishing with peppermint tea can also dull discomfort because menthol — a chemical compound naturally found in the herb — may have a mild numbing effect.
