Exercise banishes anxiety best

INTENSE workouts are a better treatment for chronic anxiety than costly talk therapy or prescripti­on drugs, a new study suggests. Scientists at Sweden’s University of Gothenburg had 286 subjects with the mental health condition complete 60-minute training sessions three times a week for three months. Study author Malin Henriksson explains participan­ts who completed the most robust exercise sessions showed the greatest improvemen­t in anxiety symptoms, such as nervousnes­s, rapid breathing and increased heart rate.
