Exercise banishes anxiety best
INTENSE workouts are a better treatment for chronic anxiety than costly talk therapy or prescription drugs, a new study suggests. Scientists at Sweden’s University of Gothenburg had 286 subjects with the mental health condition complete 60-minute training sessions three times a week for three months. Study author Malin Henriksson explains participants who completed the most robust exercise sessions showed the greatest improvement in anxiety symptoms, such as nervousness, rapid breathing and increased heart rate.
