PERVY PEE-WEE’S NEXT ADVENTURE
Plans tell-all to settle the score
DISGRACED Paul “Peewee Herman” Reubens is penning an explosive tell-all memoir that will rip the lid off Tinseltown’s most twisted secrets, showbiz insiders say!
Now 69, the childlike comedian, whose career tanked after a 1991 indecent exposure arrest in a Florida porn movie house, is promising to tell his side of the story while serving up some deep-dish Hollywood dirt, a spy says.
“He’s always felt it was wrong of authorities to charge
GLOBE / March 7, 2022 him and it will be dealt with in his book, and no doubt in a scathing way because Paul’s always maintained his innocence,” reveals the insider.
“He wants to clear his name and rid himself of that shame. He wants to come out swinging and address the elephant in the room that’s haunted him, and he’ll list every person who stuck by him and those who did not.
“No stone will go unturned and he doesn’t care who he embarrasses. He wants to tell the truth, his truth!”
Reubens, who got his start on the children’s show Pee-wee’s Playhouse, is also hoping the book will help him launch a comeback. But insiders say it could be an uphill struggle. The actor pleaded no contest to the 1991 charge and then agreed to pay a $100 fine and register as a sex offender for the duration of his three-year probation in a 2004 plea deal over a pornography case.
Still, Reubens is hopeful, the insider says.
“He’s got a lot of projects lined up including a darker Pee-wee Herman movie that he’s been tinkering with for years,” notes the source. “He hopes this book will fire things up.”
