COVID CASH OR BLOOD MONEY? Cops say gal used loan to pay hitman to snuff love rival
SCORNED she-devil Jasmine Martinez snagged a $15,000 federal pandemic relief loan — and used most of the money to hire a hitman who rubbed out her onetime love rival, authorities charge.
Miami beauty shop owner Martinez, 33, received a Paycheck Protection Program handout in 2021, shortly before TSA agent Le’Shonte Jones, 24, was fatally gunned down last May in front of her terrified toddler, who was injured during the ambush.
According to an arrest warrant, Martinez made withdrawals from her bank account totaling more than $10,000 ahead of the agent’s death.
Cops say the hotheaded harpy had several run-ins with Jones, who’d dated one of her exes. She was even arrested in 2016 for hitting Jones, but the case was later dropped.
After Martinez was cuffed again in 2018 for allegedly beating up the now-dead gal, Jones reported being harassed and claimed she was offered a payoff to keep her mouth shut, sources say.
But after the young mom was killed in cold blood, detectives reviewed old jailhouse calls between Martinez and Kelly Nelson, her imprisoned former flame.
Nelson was behind bars awaiting trial on charges he robbed Jones at knifepoint in 2020.
But lawmen say during a February 2021 phone call between the pair, Martinez told Nelson she was “ready to go kill this ho” and that Jones had to die!
Investigators charge the
vengeful shrew enlisted current beau Romiel Robinson, 35, to find triggerman Javon Carter, 29. They also claim to have video of Carter counting large sums of cash and crowing, “Just another day at the office.”
Carter, Martinez and Robinson, who’ve denied any involvement in the case, all face murder charges. Accused gunman Carter was also slapped with an attempted murder charge as Jones’ threeyear-old daughter was grazed by bullets during the cowardly crime.
