Andrew fleeing to Dubai where rape scandal is no big deal
DISGRACED royal rat Prince Andrew is abandoning Britain after sparking a firestorm by paying off a teen who accused him of rape, palace sources tell GLOBE.
Just weeks after agreeing to an estimated $20 million civil court settlement with Jeffrey Epstein’s former teen sex slave Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the shamed Duke of York is fleeing to the safe haven of Dubai, where he has rich and powerful pals and doesn’t have to hide his face in disgrace, insiders say.
But in his native land “Andrew is a pariah — to the public and his own family,” dishes a source.
“Everyone hates him for putting his mother, the queen, through hell as she battles
COVID and other health problems. He’s endangered the monarchy with his selfish, self-centered antics.
“His disgusted royal relatives, especially future kings Prince Charles and Prince William, want him exiled — but he’s beating them to the punch!
“He’s a penniless laughingstock — and his ego simply can’t take the humiliation. So he’s running away, convinced his wealthy pals will bail him out and he can return to his party boy ways.”
As trade envoy for Britain from 2001 to 2011, and later as head of his Pitch@Palace initiative for entrepreneurs, Andrew cultivated a who’s who of foreign royals, heads of state and moneybags businessmen. “He’s hoping to call in the favors he believes he did for so many of them,” says the royal insider.
In Dubai, the luxurious international hub of the United Arab Emirates and billionaires’ playground, he believes his royal status will be welcomed with open arms.
“Andrew knows his sordid sex scandal won’t raise eyebrows because women are still considered secondhand citizens in Dubai,” says an insider. “Rich men can practically get away with murder.”
Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid alMaktoum, 72, a member of Queen Elizabeth’s wealthy, horse racing circle, is also scandal-scarred.
The youngest of his six wives, Princess Haya Bint Hussein, 47, fled to London with their two children, Jalila, now 14, and Zayed, 9, in 2019, fearing for her life after she was accused of cheating. Just three months ago, Mohammed was ordered by London’s High Court to pay a record $753 million divorce payout.
A court has also found the tyrant had kidnapped and confined two adult daughters — Princesses Latifa and Shamsa — because they attempted to escape his control.
“It doesn’t matter to Andrew that his rich buddies have been involved in shady business deals or bad behavior,” says the palace source. “He’s declared he’s a loyal friend — no matter what!”
The 62-year-old duke previously refused to cut ties with his late pedophile pal billionaire Epstein, even after the child-rapist was convicted in 2008 of paying a 14-year-old hooker for sex.
“Jeffrey’s my friend,” he insisted. “Being loyal to your friends is a virtue.”
That loyalty backfired when Giuffre, now 38, sued Andrew last year, claiming he raped her when he was 41 and she 17, leading to the $20 million payoff.
Now, Andrew feels Dubai is the start of a new life where “his royal status will make him millions and no one will frown at his womanizing,” says the source.
