NEW NASAL SPRAY BLOCKS COVID INFECTION!

-

A NEWLY developed nasal spray prevents COVID-19 infection for up to eight hours, scientists say. Researchers at Finland’s University of Helsinki created the drug to give extra protection to the immunocompromised and others who are severely vulnerable to the killer bug.

The medication has yet to be tested in humans. But the team says in lab trials, the spray successfully blocked all current coronavirus variants — including the highly contagious Omicron.

The researchers insist the spray is not meant to be a vaccine replacement. But they express hope it could give extra protection to those whose immune system does not produce a robust antibody response after receiving the jab.

Lead study author and virologist Dr. Kalle Saksela is optimistic about the drug’s potential, calling it “cheap and highly manufacturable.”
