BEHIND his kindhearted mask of a man devoted to helping crippled kids, JERRY LEWIS was a sex predator who preyed on helpless women! The muscular dystrophy telethon legend’s Hollywood co-stars are breaking decades of silence to expose the creep, who died in 2017 at 91. KAREN SHARPE, 87, Lewis’ co-star in 1964’s The Disorderly Orderly, says he “started moving in on me” and “grabbed me” after ordering everyone out while she was being fitted for costumes.
“He began to fondle me. He unzipped his pants. Quite frankly, I was dumbstruck,” she says. “I put my hand up and said, ‘Wait a minute. I don’t know if this is a requirement for your leading ladies — but this is something I don’t do.’ I could see that he was furious.”
HOPE HOLIDAY, who starred in 1961’s The Ladies Man, also recalls horrific encounters, starting on her first day on set. Lewis lured her into his dressing room and pressed a button that locked the door! “He starts to talk to me: ‘Y’know, you could be very attractive but you wear pants all the time. I have never seen you in a skirt. You have nice legs and you’ve got good boobs,’ ” Hope, 91, says. “He starts to talk dirty to me and as he’s talking, the pants open, and the ugly thing came out and he starts to jerk off. I was frightened … I just sat there and I wanted to leave so badly.” Hope insists her ordeal was kept under wraps. “He was very big at Paramount. I was under contract to him and to Paramount, and I didn’t want to shake the boat.” Now she’s finally thrown him overboard!
