THE CROWN JEWELS NABBED BY THIEVES

-

Brazen blokes literally stole The Crown jewels! About $200,000 worth of antiques and royal replicas used in Netflix’s series about England’s royal family were lifted by crafty thieves. Among the 350 pricey props: a replica of an 1897 Imperial Coronation Fabergé egg that belonged to Queen Elizabeth

II’s grandfather George V, a dozen sets of silver candelabras, a clock face from a William IV grandfather clock, Russian coins, a ten-piece silver dressing table, St. Louis gilt crystal glassware and a birdcage! Producers are frantically searching for hardto-find replacements. “The items stolen are not necessarily in the best condition and therefore of limited value for resale,” says the show’s crushed set decorator. “However, they are valuable as pieces to the U.K. film industry.”
