Ukraine beauty queen turns freedom fighter
STUNNING former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna traded her bikini, high heels and crown for army fatigues, combat boots and a rifle to join other courageous freedom fighters battling vicious Russian invaders.
Winner of the 2016 Miss Grand Ukraine title, Lenna could have stayed safe in Turkey where she works in public relations and as a model.
Instead, the brunette bombshell joined an estimated 35,000 girls and gals valiantly risking their lives to fight and protect the capital of Kyiv.
In one social media post, Lenna vows: “Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!”
In another she urges people around the globe to: “Stop Russian aggression! Speak up, world!! Now!!”
In a third, she posts a photo of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky inspecting the front lines, and writes: “World leaders should see this. A true and strong leader this is the President of Ukraine.”
Lenna, who speaks five languages, is hoping her fighting example will inspire Ukrainians to thumb their noses at the Russians, who invaded their homeland on Feb. 24.
She also released photos of her training with other resistance fighters in the woods and indoor areas.
Other brave volunteers include a man with a prosthetic leg and a couple who were to wed in May but quickly tied the knot and joined resistance forces the next day.
In addition to her beauty pageant win, brainy Lenna also earned a degree in marketing and management from Kyiv’s Slavistik University.
She sadly notes her family teamed with Russia to defeat Nazi Germany in World War II.
Meanwhile, she hopes to inspire more brave volunteers with her social media posts showing her in her soldier garb with the caption: “Miss supernational Ukraine 2016 Anastasiia Lenna defending the freedom.”
