EXERCISE IMPROVES YOUR MEMORY!
But air pollution can reverse gains
EXERCISE may give your brain a boost and help ward off memory loss during your golden years, according to a new study.
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh found middle-aged adults who engage in aerobic exercise — such as running, jogging or biking — three times a week for at least four months were able to better remember life milestones.
The team says they believe heart-pumping workouts increase blood flow to the brain and prevent neurons from dying.
“The implications for public health are clear: Exercise is an accessible way older adults can stave off memory declines, benefiting themselves, their caretakers and the health care system,” says lead author Sarah Aghjayan.
“You just need a good pair of walking shoes, and you can get out there and move your body.”
But a shocking new University of Arizona study tracking 8,600 Californians warns air pollution may negate the memory-boosting benefits of exercise!
