NIC POKES FUN IN CAGEY FLICK

-

At first, NICOLAS CAGE was super cagey about playing himself in the new movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, scoffing he “wanted no part of it” and admitting he’d been “mildly offended” by the project. Eventually, he caved in — and now the comedy’s getting raves! It’s about “a fictionalized, egocentric, down-on-his-luck version of Nicolas Cage” who “accepts a $1 million offer from a wealthy mega-fan to attend a party in Spain and finds himself in a real-life action-adventure and tumbling down a rabbit hole of references to his past roles.” “I turned it down three or four times,” admits the actor, 58. “But it is a trip to have to watch two versions of yourself acting off of each other.”
