FICKLE football legend Tom Brady’s decision to cancel his retirement is threatening his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, according to sources who say the couple is hurtling toward a $650 million divorce! “Gisele fought long and hard with her husband to get him to retire at the end of last season, and now she’s furious he’s changed his mind — even though she’s publicly trying to put on a brave face and support his decision,” spills a source. But behind the scenes sources say Gisele’s bitter the seven-time Super Bowl winner — who’d completed an incredible 22 seasons — stunned the world when he pulled an end-around and revealed he was returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after officially hanging up his cleats!
“I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now,” Brady, 44, wrote on Instagram.
In the shocking announcement, the gridiron great cryptically cited “unfinished business” as the reason for his comeback — but failed to elaborate.
Gisele responded saying, “Here we go again! Let’s go Lovvey!” But insiders say her comments were dripping with sarcasm because her jock hubby had pledged to devote the rest of his life to their family!
The Brazilian bombshell, 41, and Tom, who got hitched in 2009, are parents to Vivian, 9, and Ben, 12, as well as Jack, 14 — Brady’s son with ex Bridget Moynahan.
And in his Feb. 1 retirement statement, Brady claimed it was time for him to “focus my time and energy on other things,” referring to his wife and kids.
Tipsters tattled Gisele had pushed Brady to save his health — and their relationship — by calling his career quits.
“Gisele was convinced the
next hit her aging husband would take on the field would put him in a wheelchair — or in a grave,” a source spills. “She was also frustrated because she’d hoped he would be a more supportive husband and father.”
Tom even confessed in 2020 his steamed spouse had told him “she didn’t feel I was doing my part for the family.”
A mole whispers, “Gisele made it clear to him he had to pick — football or his family!”
While his brief retirement helped the former New England Patriot score points with his wife, an insider says Tom and his miffed missus spent nearly all that time fighting!
“He couldn’t leave the game behind him and was emotionally absent around the house,” an insider squeals. “Gisele could see she was coming in a poor second place to football.”
