Pets help you fight memory loss
PETS provide more than comfort and companionship — they also help protect against memory loss, a new study suggests. Researchers at University of Michigan Medical Center tested more than 1,300 seniors and discovered those who had animals in their lives for at least six years displayed better recall skills. Dr. Tiffany Braley says her team’s results hint pet ownership, which has been linked to lower stress levels and a decrease in blood pressure, “may also be protective against cognitive decline.”
