CRUSADING COUPLE BUSTED IN SWINDLE!

Accused of LOOTING Black Lives Matter cash

-

BOSTON bigmouth Monica CannonGrant — a prominent Black Lives Matter activist — raised thousands with a charity pledging to fight violence and inequality. But the feds say she and hubby Clark Grant instead used the cash as their own private piggy bank and scammed at least $185,000!

Cannon-Grant, 41, and Grant, 38, founded the nonprofit Violence in Boston in 2017 — and soon started raking in big bucks!

According to an 18-count indictment against the pair, a Cambridge, Mass., BLM chapter gave the swindlers $3,000 in August 2017 to feed needy children, but the cash instead was transferred into a relative’s bank account!

Two years later, a Massachusetts District Attorney’s office donated $6,000 in forfeited assets for the charity to take at-risk young men on a

three-day retreat in Philadelphia. But prosecutors say the greedy spendthrifts blew the money on a getaway for themselves in Maryland — including a $1,200 hotel bill and hundreds on restaurant tabs.

The feds also claim the fraudsters lied to get their mitts on more than $100,000 in federal pandemic-related unemployment benefits and wrongly used their nonprofit’s assets to qualify for a mortgage.

But Cannon-Grant’s lawyer accused the government of having “rushed to judgment” and “drawing conclusions from an incomplete factual record.”
