BULLETPROOF VEST GAME BACKFIRES!
Florida boy dies as teens take turns shooting each other
THREE teen boys thought they were smart by inventing their own version of Russian roulette — using a bulletproof vest — now one is dead and his stunned pals are facing years behind bars!
Incredibly, the stupid game that left Christopher Leroy Broad Jr., 16, dead was caught
on video by his 18-year-old buddy Evan Vowell, who refused to play as Broad and
his friends Colton Whitler and Joshua Vining, both 17, decided to take turns shooting each other!
Cops say the video reveals Vining was the dope who invented the game, saying: “Has anyone ever seen anyone get shot with a bulletproof vest on?”
Vining supplied the body armor and handgun for the spinoff of Russian roulette, where players take turns holding a six-shot pistol loaded with one bullet to their heads and pulling the trigger.
Video of the first round shows Broad firing at Vining wearing the vest while Whitler watches, police say. Then Broad dons the armor and Vining fires at him once.
Broad nods at him and Vining shoots four more times, according to Bellevue, Fla., cops, who say Whitler told them “my friend got shot in the chest” when they arrived at the scene.
The teen was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Four days after the April 3 tragedy, Vining was busted
for aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm while Whitler faces a charge of providing false information to law enforcement, say sources.
The teens will be tried as adults, lawmen say.
Neighbor Joe Vanhouten says, “I saw a teenage boy come outside all hysterical screaming” after the shooting. “A sad deal that teenage boys being I guess being teenagers, not realizing the possible consequences of what they were doing.”
