DYING QUEEN’S BRAVE LAST DAYS

-

FORCED into seclusion by devastating illness, frail Queen Elizabeth is bravely using her final days to make personal appeals for peace in her warring family.

“Her Majesty is determined to end the fighting before she dies,” says a high-level courtier.

In a surprise top-secret move, the ailing 96-year-old monarch agreed to see royal renegades Prince Harry, 37, and his diva wife, Meghan, 40, at Windsor Castle on April 14.

Their visit was the first since the rebellious couple quit the royal service in 2020 and moved to a $14 million California sprawl, where they’ve sold their “celebrity” in megabucks Hollywood deals.

But the queen’s olive branch to the couple — who’ve shamefully trashed their royal kin as “racists” — came with strings, say sources.

“I’m told she made it clear the two years of hell they inflicted on the royal family couldn’t simply be forgiven and forgotten.

“She insisted they first meet face-toface with Harry’s dad, Prince Charles, who they’d publicly accused, wrongly, of cutting them off financially.

“Apparently no bridges were mended in that 15-minute meeting, but the get-together with Her Majesty went better.

“Harry is a favorite and she wants him and his family to return to the royal fold.

“The question is do they really want to — or was this meeting just another PR stunt by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?

“They know they need the royal fairy dust to keep their dreams alive,” adds the courtier, suggesting Harry and Meghan want to be able to use royal links to continue their gold rush.

The couple, who inked a $100 million Netflix deal, was recently followed by a film crew from the streaming giant when they stopped off in England en route to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, which Harry co-founded.

Royal biographer Tom Bower believes the secret meeting with the queen was “done for their Netflix documentary” and the frail monarch was being used.

“The Sussexes exploited an old, unwell woman to boost their credibility and coffers and the queen’s advisors failed to protect her,” charges Bower.

Meanwhile, the palace is desperate to keep the monarch’s health under wraps, say insiders.

“They’re going to unprecedented lengths to stop photos showing her incapacitated in any way,” says the courtier.

“But sadly, she is running out of steam and these family feuds are sapping the last of her strength.”

Sources say the queen is battling serious health woes including heart and mobility problems.

“She needs a scooter or a wheelchair but won’t use them in public,” says the insider. “She refuses to look weak and decrepit.”

The broken-hearted monarch’s health plummeted rapidly after her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, 99, died a year ago.
