BREAST IMPLANTS LINKED TO CANCER & SNOOPY BOOBS!

-

TEXTURED breast implants can cause a rare form of cancer and misshapen mammaries known as Snoopy’s deformity — because the busted boobs resemble the sloping snout of the Peanuts cartoon dog, a top doc warns.

Detroit-based plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn says the controversial implants, which are used in less than 15 percent of cases in the United States, leave patients at risk for anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) — a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

“Some of these have even been recalled,” Youn explains, pointing out the Food and Drug Administration pushed Allergan Inc. to voluntarily pull back their Biocell products due to an apparent link with the deadly disease.

Some doctors have opted to use textured implants because their surface adheres to surrounding tissues, allowing them to better hold their position than smooth ones.

However, Youn recently took to social media to share the striking case of one of his patients, a woman who had textured implants placed by a different surgeon six years earlier. On top of upping her odds of developing ALCL, he says the silicone sacks left the gal with the dreaded Snoopy deformity!

The unsightly condition happens when implants remain sitting high on the chest, while breast tissue elongates and sags below.

But Youn says he was able to successfully extract the problematic products and restore the patient’s appearance.

Experts caution women who’ve had boob jobs involving the suspect devices should be on the lookout for ALCL symptoms, such as lumps or swelling near implants.
